Obtaining file checksum in the dataframe obtained via geodes.search_items

Would it be possible to have this information when querying items. This will allow to quickly verify if an already downloaded item has not been modified. This situation was happening when I downloaded files from Theia. If there is another method that allow to get the checksum, I'm interested either.

Hello @jhuart,

The current version of geodes does not directly return the checksum. You can find it instead in the description of each asset in the STAC description of the products.
It means that you can access this information from the Item objects from pygeodes which you can then add to your dataframe.

Here is one solution (might not be the most efficient, but it works in my tests):

Test querry :

from pygeodes import Geodes, Config
from pygeodes.utils.datetime_utils import complete_datetime_from_str

geodes = Geodes()
query = {
    "grid:code": {"eq": "T31TCJ"}, 
    "start_datetime": {"gte": complete_datetime_from_str("2022-01-01")}, 
    "end_datetime": {"lte": complete_datetime_from_str("2022-12-31")}, 
}
items, dataframe = geodes.search_items(query=query, collections=["THEIA_REFLECTANCE_SENTINEL2_L2A"])

Adding the checksums:

dataframe['checksum'] = [item.data_asset.description.split('MD5: ')[-1] for item in items]

pygeodes use GEODES' STAC interface.

You can also see all the information on each item with a item.to_dict()

Ok, I was only consulting the python doc, thinking that the mentioned one was only for CURL (I was thinking to modify python scripts to use only curl calls).
