Low Contrast for Selected Text

The difference between selected vs unselected text while on a token is too similar, causing me to not be sure if the text is selected or not:

Caret on token:

Token selected:

This is almost worse if the token has multiple occurrences near each other;

Middle $this selected:

I feel like perhaps selected text being a color rather than a slightly different grey would be more legible.

The new background is visually indistinguishable from the editor's background. This is very bad.
