# FOO documentation

leads to KeyError: 'writer' when attempting to exercise the Sphinx HTML builder.

I am opening this to be sure Sphinx upstream situation at sphinx-doc/sphinx#13713 is monitored prior to Sphinx 8.3.0 release.

Heya, I guess there is no longer an 8.3 being released and you are skipping straight to v9?

This is less problematic, as the package is already currently bound to sphinx<9.

I'm on holiday for the next week, so probably won't be able to look until after then (also at breaking changes in the newest docutils)

Probably we can close this, as @AA-Turner added a workaround patch to Sphinx in time for Sphinx 9.0 release, and the 8.3.0 referred-to in the original title did not come into existence, Sphinx having jumped to 9.0.

And #1076, #1077 appear to be the places for discussion of Sphinx v9 compatibility.

Hmm, sorry, actually the patch by @AA-Turner is for 9.1.0, it was not there in 9.0.
