Performance mode is replaced with balanced mode

Just noticed that G-Helper doesn't have performance mode. It has silent, balanced and turbo mode (G-Helper also doesn't have let Windows decide plan as well). It even changes the power plan to balanced as well. How is it different than Armoury Crate's performance mode?

The short answer - it's the same thing.

The long answer.

"Modes" in Armoury (and therefore in G-Helper) consist of two parts - main part is baked into firmware (one of 3) that defines fan behavior, power limits for all components, etc and standard windows power plan / power mode that defines how actively windows and it's apps will use hardware.

In Armoury :

• Silent – Silent BIOS preset + "custom" power plan that sets "Balanced" power mode in windows.
• Performance - Balanced / Performance BIOS preset + "custom" power lan that sets "Best performance" power mode in windows
• Turbo - Turbo BIOS preset + "custom" power plan that sets "Best performance" power mode in windows
• Windows – Balanced / Performance BIOS preset + default "Balanced" power plan that sets whatever power mode you have selected in windows Settings by yourself

G-Helper doesn't force any "custom" power plans, and just relies on default and already existing "Balanced" power plan in windows and allows you to change power mode to your liking (from Fans + Power).

By default it would be :

• Silent - Silent BIOS preset + "Best power Efficiency" power mode
• Balanced – Balanced / Performance BIOS preset + "Balanced" power mode
• Turbo - Turbo BIOS preset + "Best performance" power mode

So in short, G-Helper's Balanced is a same firmware preset as Armoury users for Performance / Windows modes. If you want to completely replicate Performance - you can also set Fans + Power -> Power Mode to "Best Performance" at a cost of a bit extra heat / power consumption tho.
